Dennis Straat
Introduction on myself My life
My name is Dennis Straat and I am 27 years old. I just graduated as a public administrator and hope to start working soon. I like to go out, to cycle and especially to travel. My passion is, next to my girl-friend, travelling around the world to see as much as possible. In my daily life, I am active as a politician in liberal group of the provincial council of Overijssel in the Netherlands. Next to that I am president of the Liberal and Radical Youth Movement of the European Union (LYMEC), the youth organisation of the liberal party ELDR in the European Parliament.
Politics and liberalism
Politics is thus a main part of my life. I strongly believe in the freedom and responsibility of the individuals and thus in liberalism. With these fundamental goals I hope the world can become peaceful, democratic and stable.
For me European integration is one of the biggest challenges of the future of Europe to create liberal and democratic societies in Europe. Bringing together the European is the most beautiful and challenging thing to work for.
